Preparing for surround sound
Speaker settings
To enable you to obtain optimum enjoyment from the receiver’s llstenlng
modes, make sure to complete the speaker settings (subwoofer, front,
center, and surround speakers) as described below

Turn on the power to this receiver by pressing the POWER
ON/STANDBY (?, (for VR-6050) or POWER ON/OFF and ON/
STANDBY o (KRF-V706OD/V606OD) or POWER 0 key.
a Press the SETUP key to enter the SET UP mode and press
A/V keys or Joystick (r/w) for the following displays.

a Select a speaker system.
0 Select the SP SETUP and press the SETUP key again so
that the subwoofer setting indication “SUBW ON” appears.
0 Use the MULTI CONTROL knob or Joystick (A/V) to select
the appropriate subwoofer setting.

I SUBW ON : Subwoofet setting mode to the receiver IS
ON
2 SUBW OFF : Subwoofer setting tmode to the iecelver IS
OFF

The Initial setting IS “SUBW ON”

When the setting “SUBW OFF” IS selected, the front speakers
are auton?atlcally set to “FRNT LARGE” and the Iprocetlure skips
to step 0
Before step 0, press the SETUP key to accept the setting
l
When subwoofer output sound IS required, select “FRNT
NORMAL” or select both “FRNT LARGE” and “SW RE-MIX ON”
0 Press the A key or Joystick I,) to accept the setting.

The front speakers setting Indlcatlon “FRNT” appears
0 Use the MULTI CONTROL knob or Joystick
(A/T)
to select
the appropriate front speakers setting.

speaker
0 Press the r\ key or Joystick (w) to accept the setting.

The center speaker setting lndvzatlon “CNTR” appears
0 Use the MULTI CONTROL knob or Joystick (A/V) to select
the appropriate center speaker setting.
If you selected “LARGE” as the front speakers setting,
1 CNTR LARGE
A large center speaker IS connected
to the receive,
2 CNTR NORMAL
An average size center speaker IS
L 3 CNTR OFF
connected to the receiver
Center speaker setting tmode to the
receiver IS OFF
If you selected “NORMAL” as the front speakers setting,

I CNTR ON : Center speaker setting mode to the re-
cerver IS ON
2 CNTR OFF : Center speaker setting niooe to the re-
cerver IS OFF
0 Press the A keys or Joystick (b) again to accept the setting.
*The surround speaker setting lndlcatlon “SURR” appears
0 Use the MULTI CONTROL knob or Joystick (A/V) to select
the appropriate surround speaker setting.
If you selected “LARGE” as the center speaker setting,
1 SURR LARGE
2 SURR NORMAL
3 SURROFF
Large surround speakers are con-
nected to the lecelver
