1.
Insert the checking gauge (2) which is one of the accesso-
ry tools into the wear check hole (1) of the calipers.
2.
Check the clearance between the stepped part of the
checking gauge (3) and the calipers (4).
When the stepped part (3) of the gauge (2) touches to the
calipers (4), it has reached the wear limit (thickness of pad
is 3 mm).
(A)
It is reaching to the wear limit.
(B)
Replace the pad since it has reached the wear limit.
Ask your Komatsu distributor for replacement of the pad (5).
The wear amount of pads on the right and left wheels are not
equal. Perform the check on both sides.
Replace all of 8 pieces if one of the pads reaches the wear lim-
it.
Wash the machine thoroughly after working in the muddy site.
Mud stuck to the calipers and discs promotes the wear of the
pad if it remains untouched.

WARNING
Do not open the cover while the engine is running. Stop the engine always before performing the check-
ing.
Immediately after the engine is stopped, its parts and oil are still very hot and may cause burn injury.
Wait for the temperature to go down, and then start the work.
