12.10 Removing the lower triple clamp (EXC‑F SIX DAYS EU)
Preparatory work
– Remove the headlight mask with the headlight. ( p. 125)
– Raise the motorcycle with the lift stand. ( p. 63)
– Remove the front wheel. ( p. 113)
– Remove the fork legs. ( p. 65)
– Remove front fender. ( p. 74)
– Remove the handlebar cushion.

Main work
– Open the cable holder in front of the left radiator and detach
the wiring harness.

– Take off the upper triple clamp with the handlebar and hang
them to the side.
Info
Cover the components to protect them against damage.
Do not kink the cables and lines.

Remove O-ring

– Take off the lower triple clamp with the steering stem.
– Remove the upper steering head bearing.
12.11 Installing the lower triple clamp (EXC‑F EU, XCF‑W)

Main work
– Clean the bearing and sealing elements, check for damage,
and grease.
High viscosity grease ( p. 166)
– Insert the lower triple clamp with the steering stem. Mount
upper steering head bearing.

Check whether upper steering head seal

Slide on protective ring
