12.1Removing front wheel x
– Raise the motorcycle with a lift stand. ( p. 25)

– Remove nut with washer.

– Hold the front wheel and pull out the wheel spindle with the washer . Take the
front wheel out of the fork.
Info
Do not pull the hand brake lever when the front wheel is removed.
Always lay the wheel down in such a way that the brake disc is not dam-
aged.
12.2Installing the front wheel x
Warning
Danger of accidents Reduced braking efficiency due to oil or grease on the brake discs.
– Always keep the brake discs free of oil and grease, and clean them with brake cleaner when necessary.

– Check the wheel bearing for damage and wear.
» If the wheel bearing is broken or worn:
–
Change the wheel bearing. x
– Clean and grease wheel spindle .
Long-life grease ( p. 82)
– Lift the front wheel into the fork, position it, and insert wheel spindle with
washer .

– Position washer .
– Mount and tighten nut .
Guideline
Front wheel spindle nut M12x1 40 Nm
(29.5 lbf ft)
– Remove the motorcycle from the lift stand. ( p. 25)
– Operate the hand brake lever several times until the brake linings are in contact
with the brake disc.
12.3Removing rear wheel x
– Raise the motorcycle with a lift stand. ( p. 25)
