MAINTENANCE WORK ON THE ENGINE 65

– Turn the oil pump gear  counterclockwise until oil flows out of oil line  without
bubbles.

– Connect oil line .
– Position the oil pump.
– Mount and tighten screws .
Guideline
Screw, oil pump M5 6 Nm (4.4 lbf ft)
15.3Checking the gear oil level
Condition
The engine is cold.
– Stand the motorcycle upright on a horizontal surface.

– Remove gear oil level check screw .
– Check the gear oil level.
A small amount of gear oil should flow out.
» If no gear oil flows out:
–
Add gear oil. x ( p. 66)
– Mount and tighten the gear oil level check screw.
Guideline
Screw, gear oil level check M6 6 Nm (4.4 lbf ft)
