5 Functional Description with Process Diagrams
5.3 Electronic Ratio Control System
5.3.1 Requirements
The control elements of the burner (dampers, etc.) must be equipped with actuators or fre-
quency inverters which are approved and equipped with approved feedback systems.
5.3.2 Required Inputs/Outputs
Outputs
• Each actuator requires 1 AEC-TPS output.
Up to 2 actuators per AEC-TPS are possible.
• Each frequency inverter requires 1 AEC-VS output.
Only 1 frequency inverter per AEC-VS is possible.
5.3.3 Required Parameters
Parameter groups:
• Burner Sequencer.
• Channel configuration
• Actuators
• Electronic ratio control
• Monitoring bands
5.3.4 Commissioning
Recommendation:
For commissioning of the CMS system, program the special points for OFF and for pre-venti-
lation in the current curve set and all curve sets used in succession.
Particularly when setting while the burner is in operation, the actuator positions for pre-venti-
lation and OFF (CLOSE) must be defined and accessible, see chapter 8.9 Settings .
5.3.5 Physical actuator types
5.3.5.1 Continuous Actuators
Configuration
Adjust a continuous actuator with one of these two methods:
1 Externally switched and permanently supplied
2 Use the non-failsafe output of the AEC-VS of the BS only if it is activated in the curve set.
In the second configuration method, either the ’Special point in OFF’ or the lower range limit
must be programmed manually for the channel when it is switched OFF. The ’Special point in
OFF’ must be programmed in a curve set in which the channel is active.
The band monitoring of the CMS electronic ratio control also monitors channels that are not
active in the curve set for keeping their OFF position (CLOSE). This is set to the lower range
limit.
