4 CMS Components
4.1.7 Interfaces
Ethernet/Modbus TCP
The Ethernet interface enables communication between the CMS and a remote PC. The con-
nection cable must conform to the Ethernet specifications.
This interface is also used to connect the GUI6xx.
An Ethernet switch can be used to deploy multiple nodes simultaneously.
LAMTEC SYSTEM BUS
The CMS uses both the failsafe LAMTEC SYSTEM BUS (iLSB), for the interconnection of
CMS modules, and the non-failsafe LAMTEC SYSTEM BUS (LSB) to communicate with other
system components such as a LAMTEC LT series flue gas analyser for oxygen trim and/or CO
Control.
Even when LT3-F is connected with 2 LT2/LT1 for CO control, the safe transmission of the rel-
evant signals is ensured by protocol adaptation, despite the unsafe LSB hardware.
The cable length of the ILSB system must not exceed 100 m.
The cable length of the LBS system is about 500 m. The cable must be shielded and use twist-
ed-pair cabling. For more information about LSB, see ’LAMTEC SYSTEM BUS Technical
Documentation’, publication no. DLT6095.
Consult the CAN specification!
PROFINET
Optional module EBM112: The connection requirements match those of the PROFINET
specification. The cable length must not exceed 100 m (Ethernet without repeater). Minimum
specification = CAT-5.
For more information about EBM112, see ’Commissioning supplement for fieldbus module
EBM112’ (DLT1226).
