Setting the Offset Mast
The mast must be set for 0 degree and 30 degree for
telescoping offset jib operation. The mast must be set for 0,
15, and 30 degree for offset lattice jib operation.
1. Extend and set the outriggers.
2. Swing the boom over rear of truck chassis.
3. Deploy the jib as outlined in (Jib Operation, page 4-5).
4. Remove the pin (3) from the mast stowage bracket.
5. Swing the mast (1) from the stowed position to the top of
the jib (2).
6. Install pin (3) that was removed from the stowage
bracket to secure the mast to the jib boom.
7. Install the retaining clip (5) to secure pin to mast.
8. Route hoist rope in groove in sheave wheel (7) and
secure with retaining pin (6).
CAUTION
The mast assembly (1, Figure 4-9) must be positioned on
top of the base section before attempting to use the jib at
the 0, 15, or 30 degree offset positions. Failure to do so
can cause damage to the mast and/or jib adapter.
CAUTION
Do not overload the jib or the attachment points when
lowering the boom.
CAUTION
Use caution to avoid pinch points while positioning mast.
