Cases of Problems, and Probable Causes and Solutions
The Starter Does not Crank or Cranks Slowly, Resulting in Start
Failure

plied by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd., inspect and maintain them by following the manufacturer's operation
manual.
Table 11-1 The Starter Does not Crank or Cranks Slowly, Resulting in Start Failure
Causes Remedies
Electrical
system
Faulty wire connection
Check fuse.
Check wiring connection of each relay between battery, starter
and starter switch.
Insufficiently charged battery
Check alternator. (Refer to P8-26).
Check and adjust belt. (Refer to P8-2).
Weak battery
Check specific gravity of battery electrolyte. (Refer to P8-24).
Charge the battery.
Change battery.
Faulty starter or starter relay Consult a dealer of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd.
Lubricating
system
Oil viscosity too high Use appropriate engine oil. (Refer to P5-1).
Excessive oil
Check amount of engine oil and lubrication system.
(Refer to P3-12).
Basic engine Sliding parts rapid wear or lock Consult a dealer of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd.
