USING THE BROWSER
Press the BROWSE PRESETS Soft Button
at the top of the HOME screen to open the
Browser. Every Preset must have a unique
name in order to be saved, but the same
Synth (or a Synth using the same name)
can be saved within multiple Presets.
The Browser lets you look within every
Preset to see the individual Synth Timbres
that they contain, so that you can load
individual Timbres from any Preset into
any active Synth.
Tip: You can also access the Browser by pressing the HOME button when on the home page (or,
effectively, by double-pressing the HOME button at any time).
LOADING A PRESET
The left pane shows a list of all the Presets that match the search criteria set by the four Soft Knobs
at the bottom of the screen. Selecting a specic TYPE, CATEGORY, MOOD, and/or GROUP will reveal
only the Presets that were saved with those Tags, generating a much shorter list and making it easy to
nd a suitable Preset. The ALL value is effectively the Off switch for that criteria, removing it from the
search equation. The upper right pane lists the individual Synth Timbres that make up the highlighted
Preset. The lower right pane displays the Tags information that was saved with the Preset.
Use the Master Encoder to scroll through the list of Presets in the left pane. Press the LOAD PRESET
Soft Button at the top of the screen to load the selected and highlighted Preset.
TIP: When the PRESET AUTOLOAD function [SETTINGS / GLOBAL / HARDWARE SETTINGS] is set
to On, scrolling from one entry to the next in the Browser will load the selected Preset automatically,
without the need to Press down on the Master Encoder or to use the LOAD PRESET Soft Button.
TIP: Loading a Preset will load up to three Synths, plus their respective Sequences (if any), their
individual Modulation Matrices, their independent Arpeggiator settings, Synth Effect and Master Effect
Settings, plus a held MOD Wheel value, a held X/Y PAD position, etc. In this regard, the Preset is a self-
contained musical environment, created to perform a certain song, suite, or section perfectly.
LOADING A TIMBRE
A Timbre is dened as all of the parameters, collectively, that are attributed to a specic Synth in any
given Preset. In this sense, it is the Timbre that denes the Synth. When the Browser is open, selecting
and highlighting a Preset will reveal - in the upper right pane - the Timbres that were saved with that
Preset. Any of those Timbres can also be loaded to the active Synth in the current Preset. Once you
have selected and highlighted the Preset that contains the Timbre you’re seeking, press one of the
Load Timbre Soft Buttons at the top of the screen (LOAD TIMBRE 1, LOAD TIMBRE 2, LOAD TIMBRE
3) to load that Timbre to the active Synth (as chosen by the KEYBOARD FOCUS button on the Front
Panel) in the current Preset.
