ENVELOPES (Continued)
ATTACK CURVE (100% LOG to LINEAR to 100% EXP)
Each Envelope can specify a particular type of curve for each stage. With a value of 100% LOG, the
Attack curve will have a Logarithmic shape. When the value reaches LINEAR, the resulting Attack curve
will be a straight line. With a value of 100% EXP, the Attack curve will take on an Exponential shape.
DECAY CURVE (100% LOG to LINEAR to 100% EXP)
Each Envelope can specify a particular type of curve for each stage. With a value of 100% LOG, the
Decay curve will have a Logarithmic shape. When the value reaches LINEAR, the resulting Decay curve
will be a straight line. With a value of 100% EXP, the Decay curve will take on an Exponential shape.
RELEASE CURVE (100% LOG to LINEAR to 100% EXP)
Each Envelope can specify a particular type of curve for each stage. With a value of 100% LOG, the
Release curve will have a Logarithmic shape. When the value reaches LINEAR, the resulting Release
curve will be a straight line. With a value of 100% EXP, the Release curve will take on an Exponential
shape.
TIP: Exponential curves (100% EXP) can appear to affect the Envelope speed, especially when applied to
Release times, so it is often necessary to increase the Release time to compensate. When striving for a
truly long Release time (nearing the full 10 second maximum), setting the Time Scale to around 9x or so
may be required.
NOTE: The Envelope display in the left part of the display will reect the Attack, Decay, and Release
curve assignments made above.
VEL MOD AMT (-100% to 0 to +100%)
Velocity information from the keyboard can be used to modulate the Envelope amplitude by specifying
the Velocity Modulation Amount. Note that this parameter can be given either a positive or negative
value. As the value of this parameter approaches 100%, notes played with less velocity generate lower
Envelope output levels. Conversely, as the value of this parameter approaches -100%, notes played
with greater velocity generate lower Envelope output levels. The default value is zero.
