1. DC Electrical System
The DC electrical system is powered by two baeries, and are kept charged by the engine driven
alternator or by the baery charger when connected to AC power. The baery voltage is indicated by
the voltmeter screen located on the SmartCra
TM
tachometer, or on the oponal GPS with Vessel
Link.
2. Baeries
Quicksilver® recommends AGM type starng or a deep cycle baery for you boat. The baery must
meet the minimum capacity required by the engine manufacturer. Refer to your engine owner’s
manual for exact baery requirements.
To remove the baery cables:
1. Turn o all items drawing power from the baery.
2. Turn the baery switches to the OFF posion.
3. Remove the negave cable rst, then the posive cable.
To replace the cables, install the posive cable rst, then the negave cable.
3. Baery Boxes
The baeries are located in the a bilge and can be accessed through the cockpit oor storage hatch.
They can be installed or removed by loosening the strap and removing the lid on the baery box. The
baeries should always be installed and secured within the baery boxes on your boat. This will
ensure that the baery will not move around while the boat is underway.
4. Baery Selector Switches
Your vessel is equipped with baery switches to control the delivery of DC power from the baeries.
The baery switches are located on the starboard a corner of the cockpit behind an access door.
The number of engines and opons on your boat determines the number and type of baery
switches.
Never use an open ame in the baery storage area. Avoid
striking sparks in the baery area.
Always disconnect the baery before doing any work on the
electrical system. Never turn o the baery switches or
disconnect the baery cables while the engines are running.
The bilge pumps and stereo memory sll draw power from
the baeries, even if the switches are set to OFF. This is
especially important for the bilge pumps, so that they can
operate anyme excess uid accumulates in the bilge,
which can occur when the boat is docked and unaended.
Never work on the electrical system while the system is
energized. Never leave the cra unaended with the
electrical system energized.
Single Engine Boat
On a single engine installaon, there is one baery switch that controls two isolated baery banks.
When you turn the baery switch to the ON posion, power is provided from both the engine baery
and the house baery. The baery switch also has the ability to combine baery banks for emergency
starng. To turn on power to the boat, rotate the switch clockwise 90 degrees to the ON posion. To
ulize both baery banks for emergency starng, push the switch in and rotate clockwise 45 degrees.
