Auto Focus
If you want the camcorder to focus for you
automatically, set A
UT0
LOCK to A
UT0
LOCK.
The camcorder will automatically focus on any
subject three feet or more from the lens. For a
subject closer than three feet, press “W” to change
to wide-angle where the subject will be in focus.
Manual Focus
Certain conditions
require
manual focusing.
l
When taping two subjects
-
one near and one
distant.
l
When taping subjects in very low light.
l
When taping a horizontally striped subject.
l
When taping subjects with little or no contrast.

Slide AUTO LOCK out of A
UT0
LOCK.
2. Press power zoom button

and zoom in on the
subject.
3. Press FOCUS ON/OFF to select manual focus.
MF will appear in the viewfinder.

side of MANUAL FOCUS

to
adjust the focus.

MF+
will appear in the viewfinder when
focusing in the + direction.
l MF- will appear in the viewfinder when
focusing in the
-
direction.
5. Use the power zoom buttons to select desired
zooming range.
Note: When the POWER switch is placed in OFF, focus
will reset to auto when power is restored. Manual focus
will remain selected if you place the
ON/POWER SAVE
lever in
POWER SAVE
and then restore power by placing
it ON.
