SPECIAL POINTS RELATING TO DIESEL VERSIONS
Diesel engine speed
Diesel engines are fitted with
injection equipment which
prevents overrevving of the engine
irrespective of the gear in use.
Lack of fuel
After the tank has been filled when
you have completely run out of fuel,
you may be start the engine
normally on condition that the
battery is fully charged: see the
information on the fuel tank in
section 1 to find out more about the
special features of diesel versions
fitted with common rail (high
pressure) injection.
However, if after a few seconds and
several attempts the engine fails to
start, contact a Renault Dealer.
Precautions to be taken in winter
To avoid any problems in icy
weather:
ensure that the battery is always
fully charged.
To avoid water vapour
condensing in the fuel tank and
accumulating at the bottom, do
not allow the level of fuel to
become too low.
Vehicles equipped with diesel
fuel heater
This equipment enables diesel fuel
to be used without an additive
down to –18°C or, if the vehicle is
used regularly for short journeys
(cold engine), down to –5°C.
