Chapter 6
Screw terminal strips of the LMS500 Lite/PRO Indoor
Important If you use flexible connecting cables with stranded wire to connect to the terminals on the
LMS5xx you must not use any ferrules.
6.4.4 General conditions for the data interfaces
The table below shows the recommended maximum length of cable as a function of the
data transmission rate selected.
Important Use screened cable (twisted-pair) with at least 0.25 mm² (approx. 24 AWG).
To prevent interference, do not lay data cable in parallel with power supply and motor
cables over a long run, e.g. in cable ducts.
Cable type Minimum cross section Maximum cross section
Flexible wires (finely stranded
conductor)
0.14 mm² (AWG 26) 1 mm² (AWG 18)
Rigid wires (one conductor) 0.14 mm² (AWG 26) 1.5 mm² (AWG 16)
Flexible wires (finely stranded
conductor) with ferrule
0.25 mm² (AWG 24) 0.5 mm² (AWG 22)
