6 Common Service Procedures
Wheel Service
REAR WHEEL
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
1. Remove the key. Disconnect the spark plug wire
while working on all gas units.
2. Elevate the rear end of the unit (see Elevating Rear
End for Safe Service, in this section).
3. Remove the lug nuts (C, Figure 13).
4. Remove the tire and rim (B) from the axle hub (A).
5. Reinstall components in reverse order of disassembly
and lower the unit.

FRONT WHEEL SERVICE
Front Wheel Removal and Installation
Refer to Figure 14.
1. Elevate the front of the unit. (see Elevating Front End
for Safe Service, in this section).
2. Remove the plastic hub cap (A) using a screwdriver.
Remove the E-ring (B).
3. Remove the washer (D).
4. Remove the wheel assembly (E and F).
5. Install in reverse order of removal.
Wheel Bearing Replacement
Refer to Figure 14.
1. Elevate the front of the unit (see Elevating Front End
for Safe Service, in this section).
2. Remove the front wheel.
3. Using a drift and hammer, tap the old bearings (F)
out of the tire and rim (E).
4. Press the new bearings (F) into the tire and rim (E)
using an arbor press.
5. Reinstall the front wheel (see Front Wheel Removal
and Installation, in this section).
