How to carry out inspections
If you have stopped the conveyors too late or if you want to review images of preceding baggage or freight
items, you can recall image parts or complete images with the REVIEW function. This way, you need not
scan the items once more. Select the interesting image with
3 and 2. To switch back to the last im-
age, press
1 or reach the last image automatically with starting the conveyors.
Then continue the scanning process in the way described above.
Automatic return mode*
Press m or n according to the scanning direc-
tion indicated in the screen indication field (F 1-25) to
start the conveyor.
When the baggage or freight item enters the inspection tunnel, a light barrier is interrupted and the X-ray
generators are activated.
While the baggage or freight item is transported through the inspection tunnel, it is scanned line by line.
Synchronously with the moving item, the corresponding X-ray image scrolls into the monitor screen.
After scanning is completed the running direction of the conveyor is reversed automatically, the object is
thus returned to the entrance and the conveyor is then stopped.

If the conveyor was stopped though the inspection of a baggage or freight item had not yet been
finished, the conveyor will possibly reverse* a short distance automatically. This way, cuts in the
X-ray image are avoided (cutless image processing).

Warning!
Stop the conveyors immediately with
1, if
somebody puts a hand behind the lead cur-
tains!
Also avoid that baggage or freight items fall
down. In case of such risk, stop the conveyors
immediately!950

In order to identify unknown objects, it might be necessary to scan the baggage or freight item
once more from a different angle. For this purpose, turn the baggage or freight item and use
m or n (opposite to the scanning direction) to have the baggage item transported back to
the inspection tunnel entrance.

Attention!
If the conveyors were stopped during the scanning of an item, and, if no brief reverse movement
was initiated when stopping, an automatic reverse movement can be initiated when continuing
the scanning; this way, no cuts will be caused in the X-ray image (cutless image processing)!
In this case, pay attention to baggage or freight items, which have been placed on the entry side
of the conveyors during the stop. These items might fall down when the conveyors are reversed!

Attention!
The unit may be set in a way that the
keys
n and m either have to be
pressed briefly or have to be kept de-
pressed (according to the arrow symbols
in the screen indication field (F 1-25))! In
the latter case the unit can also be set
so as to stop the conveyors only after up
to 3 seconds after the key is released!
An immediate conveyor stop is possible
with
