TC PRESET
PRESET, RESET Sets the time code (p. 51).
UB PRESET
PRESET, RESET Sets the user bits (p. 52).
TC FORMAT
DF, NDF Switches the time code recording method (60i
model). The time code is fixed to [NDF] (50i
model).
DF: Records the time code in drop frame.
NDF: Records the time code in non-drop
frame.
• The time code is also fixed to [NDF] (60i
model) when the frame rate is set to 24 in
[REC FORMAT].
• Drop-frame
Time code is based on 30 frames per second;
however, gaps in the actual time occur during
extended periods of recording as the actual
frame frequency of NTSC image signals is
29.97 frames per second. Drop frame corrects
this gap to make time code and actual time
equal. In drop frame, the first 2 frame
numbers are removed every minute except in
every tenth minute. Time code without this
correction is called non-drop frame.
TC RUN
REC RUN, FREE RUN Sets how the time code advances.
REC RUN: Advances the time code only
during recording. Select this setting to record
the time code sequentially from the last time
code of the previous recording.
• Even if the time code advances in [REC
RUN] mode, the time code may not be
recorded sequentially in the following
cases:
– When the recording format is changed.
– When the memory card is removed.
FREE RUN: Advances the time code
regardless of operation of your camcorder.
