3.5 RS485 Communication Connection
For the Wi-Fi installation, see the last step in section 2.2 Installing the
Inverter”. More detailed information for the Wi-Fi module can be found in the
respective manual.
The RS485 terminal can also be used to connect an external RS485
device. For the pin definition and waterproof procedure, please contact
SUNGROW.
Failure to comply with the requirements of wiring or waterproof will
void the warranty.
3.6 (Optional) Meter Communication Connection
The SUNGROW energy meter should be installed next to the main switch. The
section mainly describes the connection on the inverter side. For details on the
meter side, see the guide delivered with the meter.

1. Take out the communication connector from inverters packaging and the
RS485 cable from the meters packaging.

2. Unscrew the swivel nut from the cable gland and remove the waterproof
plug from the left inlet. Lead the A and B plugs from inside out through
the connector. This will result in the cable with the RJ45 plug on the
inside end, and the A and B plugs on the outside.
