Energy Conserving
Suzuki does not recommend the use of “ENERGY
CONSERVING” oils.
Some engine oils which have an API classification of
SH or higher have an “ENERGY CONSERVING” indi-
cation in the API classification doughnut mark.
These oils can affect engine life and clutch perform-
ance.
IDLE SPEED ADJUSTMENT
Check the engine idle speed.
Engine idle speed: 1 200–1 400 r/min
SPEEDOMETER (FOR LIMITED MARKET)
Set the meter to odometer, then press and hold ADJ
and SEL button for 3 seconds to switch the display.
Select km/h or mph properly to comply with traffic reg-
ulations.
Check km/h and mph display after adjusting the instru-
ment panel display.
A: ADJ button
B: SEL button
C: Speedometer display (km/h, mph)
Test ride the motorcycle checking all mechanical func-
tions.
Tighten all nuts, bolts, and miscellaneous mounting
parts to the proper torque specs.
Confirm that all cables and wiring harnesses are con-
nected and routed correctly.

NOTE:
If the engine idle speed is not within the speci-
fied range, ask your Suzuki dealer or a qualified
mechanic to inspect and repair the motorcycle.
