Power Cord Information
A power cord with appropriate plug configuration is supplied with each
TDS 520A, 524A, 540A, & 544A Digitizing Oscilloscope. Table 2Ć1 gives the
colorĆcoding of the conductors in the power cord. If you require a power cord
other than the one supplied, refer to Figure 2Ć1 PowerĆCord and Plug
Identification

Color Alternate Color
Ungrounded (Line) Brown Black
Grounded (Neutral) Light Blue White
Grounded (Earthing) Green/Yellow Green
Operating Voltage
This oscilloscope operates with any line voltage from 90-250 VAC
RMS
with
any line frequency from 47-63 Hz. There are two fuses, either of which may
be used throughout the line voltage and frequency ranges. (The two fuses
are not totally interchangeable as each requires a different fuse cap.)
Memory Backup Power
Memory modules with onĆboard batteries allow TDS 520A, 524A, 540A, &
544A Digitizing Oscilloscopes to retain some types of data upon loss of the
AC power source. The stored adjustment constants, saved frontĆpanel
settings, current frontĆpanel settings (instrument status), and waveforms
saved in memory are retained.
The onĆboard batteries of the memory modules have a shelf life of about five
years. Partial or total loss of stored settings upon power on may indicate that
the memory modules need to be replaced.
