1.Raisetheseatandremovethebatterycover.The
bypassvalveislocatedinfrontofthebattery
(Figure28).
2.Rotatethevalve1/4turnineitherdirectiontoopen
andallowoiltobypassinternally.Becauseuidis
bypassed,themachinecanbeslowlymovedwithout
damagingthetransmission.Notethepositionof
thevalvewhenopeningorclosing.
3.Closethebypassvalvebeforestartingtheengine.
However,donotexceed5to8ft-lb(7to11N⋅m)
torquetoclosethevalve.
