1.Positionthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthe
cuttingunits,stoptheengine,engagetheparking
brakes,andremovetheignitionkey.
2.Cleantheareaaroundtheltermountingarea.Place
adrainpanunderthelterandremovethelter
(Figure70).

3.Lubricatethenewltergasketandllthelterwith
hydraulicuid.
4.Ensurethattheltermountingareaisclean.Screw
thelteronuntilthegasketcontactsthemounting
plate;thentightenthelteranadditional1/2turn.
5.Oncethereservoirislled,starttheengineandlet
itrunatlowidleforapproximatelytwominutes.
Activatesteeringandraise/lowercuttingunits
severaltimestopurgeairfromthesystem.Stopthe
engineandcheckforleaks.
CheckingtheHydraulicLines
andHoses
ServiceInterval:Every2years
Inspectthehydrauliclinesandhosesdailyfor
leaks,kinkedlines,loosemountingsupports,wear,
loosettings,weatherdeterioration,andchemical
deterioration.Makeallnecessaryrepairsbefore
operating.
Hydraulicuidescapingunderpressurecan
penetrateskinandcauseinjury.
•Makesureallhydraulicuidhosesand
linesareingoodconditionandallhydraulic
connectionsandttingsaretightbefore
applyingpressuretothehydraulicsystem.
•Keepyourbodyandhandsawayfrompin
holeleaksornozzlesthatejecthighpressure
hydraulicuid.
•Usecardboardorpapertondhydraulic
leaks.
•Safelyrelieveallpressureinthehydraulic
systembeforeperforminganyworkonthe
hydraulicsystem.
•Seekimmediatemedicalattentionifuid
isinjectedintoskin.
AdjustingtheCounterbalance
Pressure
Thecounterbalancetestport(Figure71)isused
totestthepressureinthecounterbalancecircuit.
Recommendedcounterbalancepressureis470psi(3241
kPa).Toadjustthecounterbalancepressure,rotatethe
adjustingscrew(Figure71)clockwisetoincreasethe
pressureorcounterclockwisetodecreasethepressure.
Note:Allthreesidecuttingunitscastorwheelsshould
remainonthegroundwithcounterbalanceapplied.
