1.VisualInspection:Thefusesusedinthisapplicationmaybevisually
inspected.Afailedfusecanbeidentiedbyabrokenormeltedelement
insidethefusecoveroradamagedspade.
2.Usingadigitalmulti-metersettotheOHMorContinuitysetting,removethe
fuseandcheckthecontinuitybetweenthefuseblades.IfthefuseisOPEN
(nocontinuity),replacethefuseandtestthecircuit.
Key/IgnitionSwitch
Theignitionswitchmakestheproperconnectionsforthestarter,safety
circuits,andaccessories.Detentsinsidetheswitchcontrolthethreeswitch
positions:OFF,RUN,andSTART .TheSTARTpositionisspringloadedsothatit
automaticallyreturnstotheRUNpositionwhenreleased.
IgnitionSwitchWiringConnections
Key/IgnitionSwitchTesting
1.ParkthemachineonalevelsurfaceanddisengagethePTO.Stoptheengine,
waitforallmovingpartstostop,andremovekey.Engagetheparkingbrake
2.Removethecontrolpanelfromtherightconsole.
3.Disconnecttheharnessfromtheignitionswitch.Gentlyrocktheconnector
backandforthuntilunplugged.
4.Usingadigitalmulti-metersettotheOHMorContinuitysetting,verifythat
continuityexistsbetweentheterminalslistedforeachswitchposition.
