Search backward for a character

F9 Search the input message backward for “xx” character from the current cursor position,

leaving the cursor pointing to the “xx” character.

Syntax = F9xx where xx stands for the search character’s hex value for its ASCII code.

Refer to the ASCII Conversion Chart (Code Page 1252), beginning on page 115 for

decimal, hex and character codes.

Search forward for a non-matching character

E6 Search the input message forward for the first non-“xx” character from the current cursor

position, leaving the cursor pointing to the non-“xx” character. Syntax = E6xx where xx

stands for the search character’s hex value for its ASCII code.

Refer to the ASCII Conversion Chart (Code Page 1252), beginning on page 115 for

decimal, hex and character codes.

E7 Search the input message backward for the first non-“xx” character from the current cursor

position, leaving the cursor pointing to the non-“xx” character. Syntax = E7xx where xx

stands for the search character’s hex value for its ASCII code.

Miscellaneous Commands

Suppress characters

FB Suppress all occurrences of up to 15 different characters, starting at the current cursor

position, as the cursor is advanced by other commands.

When the FC command is encountered, the suppress function is terminated. The cursor is

not moved by the FB command.

Syntax = FBnnxxyy . .zz where nn is a count of the number of suppressed characters in

the list, and xxyy .. zz is the list of characters to be suppressed.

Stop suppressing characters

FC Disables suppress filter and clear all suppressed characters. Syntax = FC.

Replace characters

E4 Replaces up to 15 characters in the output message, without moving the cursor.

Replacement continues until the E5 command is encountered. Syntax =

E4nnxx

...zz

where nn is the total count of of the number of characters in the

list (characters to be replaced plus replacement characters); xx

defines characters to be

replaced and xx

defines replacement characters, continuing through zz

and zz
