Adjustment steps:
8 Set the shift lever in neutral.
8 Loosen the locknut 1 or 2.
8 Adjust the start-in-gear protection
wire adjuster 3 so that the marking
of lever 4 can align with the marking

8 Tighten the locknut 2 or 1.
Start-in-gear protection adjustment
1. Check:
9Start-in-gear protection operation
Incorrect ® Adjust.
2. Adjust:
9Start-in-gear protection wire
Adjustment steps:
8 Turn the throttle stop screw 2 in di-
rection c or d until the specified
idling speed is attained.

4. Adjust:

POWER UNIT
Engine oil level
NOTE:
9Run the engine for several minutes, turn
it off, and check the engine oil level.
9When checking, hold the outboard motor
in the upright position and screw in the
oil level plug.

9Oil level plug 1
