Piston installation
1. Install:

9Make sure that the end gap of each ring
is positioned correctly, then install the
piston.
9Install the piston with the “UP” mark on
the piston crown facing toward the fly-
wheel rotor side.

Piston ring installation
1. Install:
9Oil ring 1
92nd piston ring 2
9Top piston ring 3
NOTE:
9Install the oil ring, by first fitting the
expander ring and then installing the side
rail ring.
9Make sure that the “2N” mark is on the
2nd upper ring to install the piston.
9When reusing the top ring, be sure to
mark and install in the original upward
position.
9After installing the piston rings, check
that they move smoothly.
2. Offset the piston ring and oil ring end
gaps as shown.
9Oil ring end gap 1 (lower rail)
9Oil ring end gap 2 (expander ring)
9Oil ring end gap 3 (upper rail)
