5. Check:
• spacers
Damage/wear → Replace.

• After mounting a new tire, ride conserva-
tively for a while to become accustomed
to the “feel” of the new tire and to allow
the tire to seat itself properly in the rim.
Failure to do so could lead to an accident
with possible injury to the rider or dam-
age to the motorcycle.
• After a tire has been repaired or replaced,
be sure to tighten the tire air valve stem
locknut

to specification.
6. Check:
• wheel bearings
Front wheel turns roughly or is loose →
Replace the wheel bearings.
• oil seal
Damage/wear → Replace.
7. Replace:
• wheel bearings
• oil seal

a. Clean the outside of the front wheel hub.
b. Remove the oil seal 1 with a flat-head
screwdriver.
NOTE:
_
To prevent damaging the wheel, place a rag 2
between the screwdriver and the wheel sur-
face.
c. Remove the wheel bearings 3 with a gen-
eral bearing puller.
d. Install the new wheel bearings and oil seal
in the reverse order of disassembly.
