FRONT WHEEL AND BRAKE DISC

CHECKING THE FRONT WHEEL
1. Check:
wheel axle
Roll the wheel axle on a flat surface.
Bends
Replace.
WARNING
_
Do not attempt to straighten a bent wheel
axle.
2. Check:
tire
front wheel
Damage/wear
Replace.
Refer to CHECKING THE TIRES and
CHECKING THE WHEELS in chapter 3.
3. Check:
spokes
Bends/damage
Replace.
Loose
Tighten.
Tap the spokes with a screwdriver.
Refer to CHECKING AND TIGHTENING
THE SPOKES in chapter 3.
Wheel axle bending limit
0.25 mm (0.0098 in)
4. Measure:
radial wheel runout
a
lateral wheel runout
b
Over the specified limits
Replace.
Radial wheel runout limit
2.0 mm (0.079 in)
Lateral wheel runout limit
2.0 mm (0.079 in)
