stand.
with centre stand

Make sure the ground is level
and firm and with the engine
at operating temperature,
place the motorcycle on its
centre stand.
Wait five minutes for the oil
to drain into the oil pan.
Remove oil dipstick 1.
Clean measuring area 2 with
a dry cloth
Seat the oil dipstick on the oil
filler neck, but do not engage
the threads.
Remove the oil dipstick and
check the oil level.
Engine oil, specified
level
Between MIN and MAX
marks
Engine oil, quantity for
topping up
max 0.5 l (Difference
between MIN and MAX)
If the oil level is below the MIN
mark:
Topping up the engine oil
( 194).
If the oil level is above the MAX
mark:
Have the oil level corrected
by a specialist workshop,
preferably an authorised
BMW Motorrad retailer.
Install the oil dipstick.
