6.7.3 Solenoid valve for external auxiliary heater with volume
control
When an external auxiliary heater with a volume control is used
(primarily wall-mounted gas boilers with a low water volume), a solenoid
valve must be installed in the feed line to the external auxiliary heater.
The solenoid valve is installed in such a way that:
• The start of the heating circuit pump of the boiler opens the valve
• The stop of the heating pump of the boiler closes the valve
Depending on the sensitivity of the volume control, a fast motorised
valve can also be used to lower the noise level.
In the case of boilers without volume control (as e.g. most conventional
gas boilers that stand on the ground), this function is not necessary.
6.8 Accessories
6.8.1 EMS BUS
EMS-BUS for accessories
The following applies for accessories that are connected to the EMS BUS
(see also the installation instructions for the respective accessories):
▶ If several BUS units are installed, there must be a minimum spacing of
100 mm between them.
▶ If several BUS units are installed, connect them in series or in a star
configuration.
▶ Use cable with a minimum cross-section of 0.5 mm
2
.
▶ In case of external inductive interferences (e.g. from PV systems),
use screened cables. Only earth the shielding to the casing on one
side (functional earth).
▶ Connect the cable on the installation module to terminal EMS BUS.
If a component is already connected to the EMS terminal, establish the
connection in parallel to the same terminal according to figure 35.
▶ Use wire ferrules to ensure that the individual wires remain in the
clamping points.
