Drive wheel
The drive wheel diameter is 230 mm. The S200 truck models have two different
drive wheel suspensions. A number of different materials is available, however, all
materials cannot be chosen for every truck version.
Drive wheel material
The choice of drive wheel is a matter of balancing price and road holding charac-
teristics. The S212, S212L, S214, S214L and S220D only offer Powerfriction. To
meet braking standards and requirements on truck stability while at the same time
ensuring the wheel can withstand the stress it is exposed to, a Powerfriction wheel
is required on the larger models. S210 and S212S are available with Powerfriction
or Topthane, while the S208L offer both of these materials and also Vulkollan and
Vulkollan Quartz.
1. Vulkollan
Feature
Vulkollan is a hard-wearing wheel rated for very high loads. It is an ideal choice in
heavy-duty applications.
Benet
Clear benets are the high loads it can handle and resistance to extreme wear. For
trucks that travel long distances with heavy loads and considerable physical expo-
sure, this wheel material is the best choice.
2. Topthane
Feature
This wheel is intended for normal load handling, and has a slightly lower friction
coefcient compared to Powerfriction.
Benet
Topthane wheels provide good grip and offer normal load handling characteristics
at a lower price than Powerfriction wheels.
