Optimise the use of your gearbox
Withamanualgearbox,moveoffgentlyandchangeupwithoutwaiting.
Duringaccelerationchangeupearly.
Withanautomaticorelectronicgearbox,givepreferencetoautomatic
modeandavoidpressingtheacceleratorpedalheavilyorsuddenly.
Control the use of your electrical
equipment
Beforemovingoff,ifthepassengercompartmentistoowarm,ventilateit
byopeningthewindowsandairventsbeforeusingtheairconditioning.
Above30mph(50km/h),closethewindowsandleavetheairvents
open.
Remembertomakeuseofequipmentthatcanhelpkeepthe
temperatureinthepassengercompartmentdown(sunroofandwindow
blinds...).
Switchofftheairconditioning,unlessithasautomaticregulation,as
soonasthedesiredtemperatureisattained.

emissionsandalsohelpsreducethebackgroundtrafficnoise.
Ifyourvehiclehascruisecontrol,makeuseofthesystematspeeds
above25mph(40km/h)whenthetrafficisflowingwell.
Thegearshiftindicatorinvitesyouengagethemostsuitablegear:as
soonastheindicationisdisplayedintheinstrumentpanel,followit
straightaway.
Forvehiclesfittedwithanelectronicorautomaticgearbox,this
indicatorappearsonlyinmanualmode.
