6. APPLICATIONS
6.1 General Information
The ECL 2000 is supplied with 14 (Type 1) or 17 (Type 2) pre-programmed heat-
ing applications. This chapter provides:
• An overview of the ECL 2000 applications
• System and wiring diagrams for individual applications.
6.1.1 Sensor Connections
The following considerations regarding the connection of sensors apply to all the
ECL 2000 applications.
Outdoor temperature If no outdoor temperature sensor is connected or the sensor is short-circuited, the
controller uses a default value of 0 °C as the outdoor temperature.
Flow temperature If no flow temperature sensor is installed or the sensor is short-circuited, the motor
valve regulating the flow temperature is closed and automatic control of the heat-
ing is disabled.
Return temperature If no return temperature sensor is installed or the return temperature sensor is
short-circuited, return temperature limiting cannot be applied. Apart from this, the
controller functions normally.
Hot-water temperature If no hot-water temperature sensor is installed or the sensor is short-circuited,
automatic control of the hot-water temperature is disabled.
Room temperature If no room temperature sensor is installed or the sensor is short-circuited, the con-
troller can still perform automatic control of heat and hot-water circuits but all
functions related to the room temperature are disabled.
