Shaft vibration measurement with two sensors in X-Y arrangement (for example:
two EZ 108x sensors, mounted in a 90° angle at a shaft with ≤100 mm diameter).
Shaft displacement measurement with Tandem application.
Shaft displacement measurement with Cone or Double Cone application.
In this case, the oscillator frequency of one of the converters must be slightly shifted. See
Section 8.5.4
how to change the oscillator frequency.
Calculate the minimum distance D between two sensors based on the sensor head
diameter and a factor x.
Figure 5-8: Minimum distance between two sensors
A.
Sensor head diameter
B.
Minimum distance between two sensors: D = x*Sensor head diameter.
Table 5-2
shows the necessary factor
x
for calculating the minimum distance
D
between
sensors at de-tuned (different oscillator frequency) and tuned (identical oscillator
frequency) measuring chains depending on the sensor type.
Table 5-2: Factor for distance calculation
Sensor type Factor x de-tuned Factor x tuned
EZ 105x 3 4
EZ 108x 2.5 3
Example for EZ 108x with sensor head diameter of 8 mm:
Minimum Distance
de-tuned
= 8 mm * 2.5 = 20 mm
Minimum Distance
tuned
= 8 mm * 3 = 24 mm
