This appendix does not necessarily
provide the latest information on the
DeltaV system. For the latest
information on using the DeltaV system,
refer to the on-line help or
documentation supplied with the
system.
This appendix provides specific instructions for
performing basic setup operations on the DVC6000f
Series DeltaV host system. It is not a comprehensive
resource, rather a starting point. For more information,
refer to the following sources:
Section 4: Basic Setup and Tuning for detailed
information regarding initial setup, and stabilizing and
optimizing valve response.
Section 5: Detailed Setup / Blocks for detailed
information on configuring all of the blocks in the
instrument, and an overview of the function blocks.
Section 6: Calibration for complete calibration
information.
Section 8: Principle of Operation for information on
how digital valve controller operation.
Appendix A: FOUNDATION Fieldbus
Communication for an overview of function block and
block modes, as well as additional information
pertaining to fieldbus communication.

host system.

Software Functionality/System
Requirements
DVC6000f Series digital valve controllers are designed
to permit remote setup, calibration, and testing using
Process Systems DeltaV system as the host system.
To use the methods, accessed as described in this
appendix, requires that the device description (DD) for
the DVC6000f Series digital valve controller be
installed on the host system. For information on

installing the device description, refer to Appendix B,
DD Installation and the host system documentation.
Accessing Status Page
Refer to figure C-1 and the following steps to access
the Status/Conditions screen. For detailed information
on Status/Conditions refer to the Detailed Setup and
Principle of Operation sections of this manual.
1. Start DeltaV Explorer by selecting DeltaV >
Engineering > DeltaV Explorer from the Start menu.
2. Locate the digital valve controller icon in the All
Containers pane (the left panel) and right-click once
on the digital valve controller icon or name.
3. Locate Status/Conditions in the context menu and
left-click to access Status/Conditions.
