PowerPoint files through OCR (Optical Character Recognition). OCR refers to the process that

The OCR function of ABBYY FineReader for ScanSnap, which is application software supplied
with the ScanSnap, allows you to convert scanned images into Word format, Excel format, or
PowerPoint format.
