Spark Plug
(Refer to the Safety Precautions on page 39.)
Recommended plugs:
Standard:
DPR8EA – 9 (NGK) or
X24EPR – U9 (DENSO)
For cold climate: (Below 5°C, 41°F)
DPR7EA – 9 (NGK) or
X22EPR – U9 (DENSO)
1. Disconnect the spark plug cap (1) from the spark
plug.
2. Clean any dirt from around the spark plug base.
3. Remove the spark plug with the spark plug wrench
(2) and handle (3) provided in the tool bag.

10. Install the oil fill cap/dipstick.
11. Start the engine and let it idle for 3 – 5 minutes.
12. 2 – 3 minutes after stopping the engine, check that
the oil level is at the upper level mark on the oil fill
cap/dipstick with the motorcycle upright on firm,
level ground. Make sure there are no oil leaks.

NOTICE
Never use a spark plug with an improper heat range.
Severe engine damage could result.
NOTICE
Running the engine with insufficient oil can cause
serious engine damage.
