4. CYLINDER HEAD DISASSEMBLY/ ASSEMBLY
Remove the cylinder (P. 1 0- 4 ).
Rocker arm and push rod removal does not require cylinder removal.
After assembly, readjust the valve clearance (P. 3-15
).
VALVE SPRING RETAINER (2)
Push down and slide the retainer to the
side, so the valve stem slips through the
hole at the slide of the retainer.
REMOVAL:
Do not remove the valve spring retainers
while the piston is installed, or the valves
will drop into the cylinder.
8 N•m (5.9 ft-lb)

INSTALLATION:
Install each rocker
arm shaft in the
direction as shown.
INSTALLATION:
The intake and
exhaust valves are
the same. However,
if the valves are
being reused,
reinstall them in their
original locations.

Rotate the crankshaft
