5. Mounting
5.1 Guidelines
The reader is suitable for indoor and outdoor use. Mount directly on the wall or use a "standard f.m.
socket".
Mounting height:
In order to operate and read the keypad/indication optimally, install the reader at a height of
130 cm to 140 cm above the floor.
Mounting options (overview, for details see following sections):
for flush mounted cabling:
- On a flush mounted socket ( .preferred mounting)
- Directly on the wall.
for surface mounted cabling:
Mounting on the luminAXS distance plates for wall mounting (Item no. 027964).
Necessary cable reserve:
In order for the reader to be able to disassembled where necessary, there must be a sufficient
cable reserve directly under the reader.
Depending on the type or mounting, the cable reserve can be placed in the flush mounted
socket or in the section of the reader base.
Outdoor use:
- When mounting, feed the connecting cable, if possible, from the back through an empty pipe.
- If the reader is to be used outdoors, the cable bushing must be sealed on both sides of the
wall, (e.g. with plaster) to prevent condensation from forming!
- The connector for the connection cable of the reader should be located indoors.
- The reader should not be directly exposed to weather!
If this is not ensured, use the (Item no.027965). Suitable for flushluminAXS sight protection
and surface mounted cabling.
Fastening:
- The reader base can be used as a drilling template where necessary.
- When positioning the reader base, ensure that the backtamper can be securely screwed in.
Otherwise the functioning is reduced to opening monitoring.
- We recommend that the connection cable of the reader is guided through the reader base
from the side with the lettering reading "Honeywell" before fixing the reader base.
- Secure the reader base without exerting excessive force.
- Use the mounting material included in the accessories.
If you need more materials, ensure that these are identical parts (diameter).
Please note when operating the 16-key reader: For installation in accordance to
VdS and SES (Requirement CHD.03 - Identifikation, 2.1.2 input devices),
mounting with luminAXS sight protection (item no. 027965.10) is required.
