SCANNER OPERATION
The Scan Pattern Mode Select Button
There are two configurable scan pattern modes available with the MS3780.
• The primary scan pattern mode is the default scan pattern active when the
scanner starts. By default, the primary scan pattern is set to all-scan-lines
for omnidirectional reading.
• Pressing the scan pattern mode button (see figure below) activates the
secondary scan pattern mode. By default, the secondary scan pattern is
set to single-line mode for menu reading.
Please refer to the MetroSelect Configuration Guide for information
on changing the default scan pattern settings.
To Change Scan Pattern Modes
1. To activate the secondary scan pattern, press and release the
mode select button.

Activating a pattern mode when the scanner is out of its stand does
not change the in-stand pattern mode. When the scanner is
returned to the stand it will automatically revert to the most recent
scan pattern selected during in-stand operation.
2. To re-activate the primary scan pattern, press and release the
mode select button again.
