Installing a DIMM
To install the DIMM:
1. Power down the workstation (see
Predisassembly procedures on page 69).
2. Disconnect power from the workstation (see
Predisassembly procedures on page 69).
CAUTION: To prevent electrical damage to the DIMMs during removal or installation, power off
the workstation and unplug the power cord from the AC power outlet. Otherwise, the workstation
may not recognize the memory changes.
3. Remove the side access panel (see Removing the side access panel on page 72).
4. If your system has an airflow guide, remove it (see
Removing the airflow guide on page 92).
5. Push gently outward on the DIMM socket levers as shown in the following figure.
