The
sewing
adviser,
Cassette

When
you
use
the
electronic
sewing
advisor
on
Cas
sette
1,
the
machine
will
automatically
set
the
correct
stitch
length
and
width
for
the
type
of
stitching
you
will
be
doing
and
the
fabric
you
will
be
using.
The
sewing
adviser
will
also
automatically
adjust
the
upper
thread
tension
for
buttonholes,
basting
and
decorative
stitches.
It
will
indicate
which
presser
toot
is
best
suited;
when
a
stretch
needle
should
be
used;
if
you
should
use
a
fine
cord
in
the
buttonhole
and
when
the
presser
foot
pressure
should
be
reduced.
The
sewing
adviser
makes
it
easier
for
you
to
select
the
stitch
you
require.
You
only
need
to
distinguish
between
non-stretch
and
stretch
fabrics,
and
decide
whether
your
fabric
is
light,
medium
or
heavy.
If
you
are
in
doubt,
test
sew
on
a
scrap
of
fabric,
using
the
stitch
choice/choices
made
by
the
machine.
In
the
same
way
you
can
decide
which
fabric
weight
you
should
set.
On
page
20
you
will
find
some
information
regarding
the
characteristics
of
various
fabrics.
When
you
switch
on
the
main
switch,
the
machine
will
always
he
set
fdr
sewing
medium
non-stretch
fabrics.
If
you
wish
to
sew
another
type
of
material,
set
the
machine
by
means
of
the
lower
push-buttons
by
“Mate
rial”,
to
the
right
of
the
arrows.
A
red
light
will
come
on
to
indicate
the
correct
material.
Then
press
the
push
button
which
corresponds
to
the
type
of
sewing
you
plan
to
do.
The
red
light
to
the
left
of
“Auto”
will
come
on
simultaneously
and
the
machine
will
have
made
all
the
settings
automatically.
When
the
push-button
for
twin
needle
(
,which
limits
the
stitch
width
to
3
mm)
is
depressed,
the
sewing
advisor
is
out
of
order.
The
twin
needle
is
most
suitable
for
decorative
stitches.
The
lop
part
of
the
cassette
will
indicate
all
the
other
information
you
need.
