Stretch
stitch
and
reinforced

panel
until
the
light

one

symbols
for
stretch
stitch
or
reinforced
straight
stitch
oes on,
the
machine
will
be
set
to
sew
a
stitch
that
in
orne
cases
is
preferable
to ordinary
straight
stitch.
The
stretch
stitch
makes
a
pliable,
stretchy
seam
that
is
uitable
for
sewing
together
pieces
of
light
stretch
fabric.
Reinforced
straight
stitching
is
preferable
for
sleeve
isertion
and
crotch
seams
which
are
subject
to
consider
hle
strain—this
applies
to
both
stretch
and
non-stretch
aterial.
Use
thread
the
same
color
as
the
fabric
and
taste
with
ordinary
straight
stitch.
After
you
have
tried
on
the
garment,
the
seams
can
be
filled
in”
with
reinforced
straight
stitching.
The
basting
bread
need
not
be
removed
if
you
sew
exactly
along
the
sting
seam.
In
the
majority
of
cases
it
is
preferable
to
overcast
the
dges of
the
fabric
pieces
first.
Both
these
stitches
are
ideal
for
topstitching.
Use
the
retch stitch
on
light
stretch
material.
The
reinforced
traight stitch
is
more
suitable
for
topstitching
on
other
fretch
and
non-stretch
fabrics.
When
sewing
reinforced
straight
stitching,

is
possible
move
the
needle
to
one
side
of
the
needle
hole.

and
set
the
needle
to
the
right
(the
needle
hole.
First
press
the
push-button
for
the
itch
width
until
the
needle
reaches
the
left
edge
of
the
eedle
hole
and
then
press
the
mirroring
button
When
topstitching
thick,
heavy
fabrics
increase
the
pper
tension
a
couple
of
grades
in
order
to
avoid
thread
‘ops
occurring
underneath
the
fabric.
