When
you
switch
on
the
main
switch
the
machine
will
utomatically
be
set
for
straight
stitching.
If
you
have
een
using
the
machine
for
another
stitch,
you
can
return
to
the
previous
setting
by
pressing
one
of
the
push
buttons
on
the
control
panel,
marked
with
arrows.
Iopstitching
For
topstitching
on
lighter
fabrics,
fine
thread
and
peedle
should
generally
be
used.
When
sewing
thicker
fabrics,
you
can
use
a
coarser
thread
to
produce
more
pronounced
topstitching.
The
illustration
opposite
shows
topstitching
sewn
with
prdinary
thread
and
straight
stitching,
stitch
length
1.5
—6.
Iopstitching
should
always
be
sewn
on
double
fabric—
some
material
may
even
require
interfacing.
Parallel
topstitching
is
possible
by
means
of
the
twin
peedle.
Edge
stitching
When
you
wish
to
edge
stitch,
you
should
take
advan
ge
of
the
possibillity
to
move
the
needle
to
one
side
of
the
needle
hole.
Fit
presser
foot
A
when
sewing
light
fabrics
and
presser
foot
D
when
sewing
thicker
material.
Foot
D
is
designed
with
a
groove
underneath
and
you
can
utilize
the
edge
of
the
groove
as
a
guide
along
the
edge
of
the
labric.
Press
the
+
push-button
for
the
stitch
width
until
the
needle
reaches
the
left-hand
edge
(6)
of
the
needle
lole.
This
setting
is
also
suitable
when
sewing
very
close
to
lie
edge
or
if
you
wish
to
pivot
a
corner.
In
such
a
case
it
nay
be
difficult
for
the
feed
teeth
to
hold
the
fabric
curely
if
the
needle
is
at
the
center
position.
If
you
wish
to
sew
further
in
from
the
edge
(approx.
1mm)
use
presser
foot
A
and
set
the
needle
to
the
right
f
the
needle
hole.
First
press
the
push-button
for
the
titch
width
until
the
needle
reaches
the
left
edge
of
the
ieedle
hole
and
then
press
the
mirroring
button
When
edge
stitching
thick,
heavy
fabrics,
it
is
always
in
advantage
to
increase
the
upper
tension
a
couple
of
Irades
in
order
to
avoid
thread
loops
occurring
under
ieath
the
fabric.
