Some
of
the
stitches
on
Cassette
2
are
both
decorative
nd
utility
stitches.
Select
the
stitch
by
means
of
the
push.buttons
to
the
ight
of
the
cassette.
The
stitch
selected
will
be
indicated
two
red
lights;
one
on
the
left
of
the
group
of
stitches
cad
one
at
the
top.
This
shows
which
stitch
within
the
titch
group
is
set.
The
machine
will
select
the
stitch
width,
density
and
lread
tension
which
will
produce
the
best
result
on
the
najority
of
fabrics.
The
stitch
length
and
width
can
be
icreased
or
decreased
by
pressing
the
push-buttons
in
1
uestion.
In
some
cases,
however,
it
is
not
possible
to
sew
with
a
pitch
length
of
more
than
4.5.
You
can
return
to
the
standard
setting
by
pressing
the
push-button
for
another
stitch
and
then
returning
to
the
stitch
you
were
sewing.
Some
examples
follow
of
the
range
of
use.
bridging
stitch
The
bridging
stitch
is
suitable
for
joining
two
pieces
of
tabric
with
folded
edges.
If
you
would
like
a
decorative
seam,
place
the
folded
dges
(without
sewing
them
together
first)
some

each
other
and
join
with
bridging
stitch.
The
bridging
stitch
is
also
useful
for
gathering
with
shirring
elastic.
Use
the
buttonhole
foot
C
and
place
the
thirring
elastic
around
its
“heel”.
Remember
that
the
plastic
will
always
be
stitched
double,
so
take
this
into
account
when
calculating
how
much
you
will
need.
Sew
bridging
stitch
over
both
lengths
of
the
elastic
simultane
ously.
The
elastic
may
either
be
stretched
while
sewing
or
when
you
have
finished
the
seam.
In
the
latter
case
it
important
that
the
elastic
does
not
get
stitched
in
by
fliistake
but
can
run
freely
under
the
stitching.
