PWRREG instructions for Models 270 and 820
1. Is the SRC 1xxx 1611, 1612, 1613, 1621, 1622 or 1623?
v No: Continue with the next step.
v Yes: Power regulator 1 or 2 is the failing item. Use Table 6. Processor type numbers for Models
270 and 820 (See page ) in symbolic FRU CCIN to determine the processor type to be replaced.
2. Is the SRC 1xxx 2611?
v No: Continue with the next step.
v Yes: Choose from the following (processor feature codes can be found in control panel function
20 and broken down into CCIN as necessary using symbolic FRU “CCIN” on page 303):
For Processor feature code 22A2, 22A4, 22A5, 2301, 2302, 23E7, 23F0, 23F1, 2422 and 2452:
Replace Regulator R01 (see Locations - Model 270).
For removable Processor feature code 23A1, 23A2, 23A3, 23A4, 2456, 24AA, 24A9, 24AC,
24AB, 24A8, 249E, 249D, 249C, 249B, 0150: Replace regulator in processor
M03 daughter card (see Locations - Model 820).
For removable Processor feature code 23A9, 23AA, 23AC, 2425, 23B1, 23B2, 23B3, 23B4,
23B5, 23B6, 2426, 0151, 24B5, 24B4, 24B3, 24B2, 24B1, 24B0, 2457, 23B8, 23B9, 23BA,
23BB, 23BC, 23BD, 23BE, 2427, 0152, 2458, 24BE, 24BD, 24BC, 24BB, 24BA, 24B9, 24B8,
243F, 243E, 243D, 243C, 23AB, 23AD: Replace processor M03 (see Locations - Model 820).
For all other feature codes, use Table 6. Processor type numbers for Models 270 and 820 (See
page ) in symbolic FRU “CCIN” on page 303 to determine the processor type to be replaced.
3. Is the SRC 1xxx CE1A?
v No: Continue with the next step.
v Yes: Power regulator R03 on FC 5077 expansion I/O tower is the failing item (see Type, model,
and part number list for part number).
This
ends the procedure.
4. Is the SRC 1xxx 6018, 6118, 6518, 6818, 6918, 601A, or CE18?
v No: Continue with the next step.
v Yes: Power regulator 1, 2, or 3 is the failing item. Perform SPCN-PIP1 in Migrated Expansion
Tower Problem Analysis, Repair and Parts manual on the V5R1 Supplemental Manuals web site
to determine the failing item. The following list shows the possible failing items (see Type,
model, and part number list for part numbers):
Expansion I/O tower (FC 5077)
System unit expansion (FC 507x)
Storage expansion tower (FC 508x)
This ends the procedure.
5. Is the SRC 1xxx 6218, 6318, 631A, 6618, 6718, 671A, or 6A18?
v No: Continue with the next step.
v Yes: Power regulator 1 is the failing item. Perform SPCN-PIP1 in Migrated Expansion Tower
Problem Analysis, Repair and Parts manual on the V5R1 Supplemental Manuals web site
to
determine the failing item. The following list shows the possible failing items (see Type, model, and
part number list for part numbers):
Expansion I/O tower (FC 5077)
System unit expansion (FC 507x)
