5 Operang Instrucons
5.1 Introducon
To congure the transceiver, several parameters may be set from the front panel to tailor the unit for dierent
applicaons. This secon details the parameters that are available from the unit front panel and explains the
use of each parameter.
The transceiver contains no manual adjustments or switch sengs. All parameters can therefore either be
set from the front panel, using an external applicaon, or both.
There are 4 access levels that can be selected to limit the user access to certain parameters.
The local user levels can be changed using a remote protocol (external
applicaon) or using the access control submenu. To be able to change the
user level from the front panel, a PIN code must be entered rst, the default
PIN code is 1881
When changing the value of a parameter from the front panel, the new value is stored in a non-volale memory
when the user returns to the home screen, or automacally within a minute when there are no user acons.
The user access levels are:

User access levels
Restricted
Limits front panel operaon to selecng pre-set channels and adjusng local audio
output levels and display appearance. Use this level when the radio units are used
from a remote posion or in cases where the user should be restricted to use pre-set
channels only (1 to 100).
Operator
The same funconality as restricted, but in addion the local user has full access to
the operang frequency (store and recall).
Technician
This level gives the local user access to the most used installaon specic parameters
(line levels, output power, etc.) and should only be used when installing or
maintaining the radio units.
SysOp
This level gives unlimited access to all parameters within the radio units and should
be used by system experts when installing the radios inially or when the radios are
in a secured area.
5.2 Note on frequency seng
The frequency is displayed according to the procedure described in ICAO annex 10. This is a way of seng the
frequency in a mixed 8.33 kHz and 25 kHz environment. The frequency displayed does not always reect the
actual transmit or receive frequency but is the frequency used to orally communicate the frequency between
