8. Maintenance
8.1 Daily Check
To prevent trouble from occurring, it is important to know
the conditions of the tractor well. Check it before starting.
NOTE :
Be sure to check and service the tractor on a flat place
with the engine shut off and the parking brake on.
1. If there was a problem last time the tractor was
operated, check the parts where the problem may
have occurred.
2. Walking around the tractor;
1) Check the tire pressure, and check for wear and
damage (See page 39).
2) Check for oil and water leaks.
3) Check the engine oil level (See page 61).
4) Check the amount of transmission oil, and brake
oil. (See page 63, 65).
5) Check if there is enough fuel (See page 58).
6) Check if there is enough coolant in the radiator
(See page 69).
7) Check for dust load in the air cleaner dust cup
(See page 68).
8) Check the tractor body for damage and check
that all bolts and nuts are tight.
9) Check the pilot lamps for failure.
10) Check the SMV emblem for damage and clean
or replace as necessary.
3. While sitting in the operator’s seat ;
1) Check the brake pedals and clutch pedal (See
page 75, 76).
2) Check the parking brake.
3) Check the steering wheel (See page 77)
4. Turning the key switch on ;
1) Check the performance of the pilot lamps.
2) Check headlights, tail lights and hazard lamps,
clean if necessary.
5. Starting the engine ;
1) Check the color of the exhaust fumes.
