9.3 Transmission fluid
Transmission Fluid Change
The fluid in the transmission case is also used for
the hydraulic system. To drain the fluid in the trans-
mission case, loosen plug assembled in the lower
cover of transmission case. After draining, remove and
change the filter cartridge.
After reassembling, fill with new multi-grade transmis-
sion fluid.
IMPORTANT :
• Never operate the tractor immediately after chang-
ing the transmission fluid and filter cartridge. Keep-
ing the engine at medium speed for a few minutes
prevents the damage to the transmission.
NOTE :
• Be sure to stop the engine before changing the oil
filters.
Transmission Oil Filter Cartridge
The oil filter cartridge must be cleaned every 30 ser-
vice hours.
NOTE :
• Be sure to stop the engine before checking and
changing the transmission fluid.
• Check to see that the oil level lies between
HI and
LO.
Transmission Fluid Check and Refill
If short, refill it through the port. Use multi-grade trans-
mission fluid. (See page 54).
After the first 50 hours of operation of a new tractor
and 300 hours thereafter, change oil. It is easier to
change oil when the engine is warm.
